New way to get wallpapers
Are you bored of your existing wallpaper or still have the fake green windows xp field? Time to move on!
If you have tried searching for wallpapers in wallpaper sites before, you might have noticed that they are usually full of ads, and some even try to install adwares or spywares on your computer. Not to mention you rarely ever find what you were looking for. And if you do, it is not the resolution you wanted, so the wallpaper has to be cropped or worse yet it ends up with stretched pixels. You end up losing an hour of your time and your browser is filled with useless pop under ads.
Fear no more, Google Image search to the rescue!
I am sure you are ready with, “But, it doesnt always give wallpapers!”. Now, it will! A new feature added to Advanced Google Image Search (http://images.google.com/advanced_image_search?hl=en) will now enable you to search for photos of a specific size. Now you can search only for wallpapers, or for your avatars if you want to spice up your new profile or IM window.
There is an extremely handy “use my desktop size” link, which will automatically fill the image height and width according to current display resolution.
This is a screenshot illustrating how to use this handly little addition
All this is simple enough. 5 minutes later, I have a awesome Pink Floyd cover art wallpaper on my desktop. Let me know how you used this feature in the comments!
P.S. We can also search for only black and white images. ^_^
