If we have to cite one of the most significant innovations of the contemporary times and may be for the times that would be coming ahead, it has to be the internet technology. Internet actually refers to the world of computers from all over the world that are connected and networked together for sharing of information and content. Most of these data are being shared through multiple channels called the servers and it is generally done in the switching of packets following the standardized rules laid down by the “Internet Protocol Suite” (TCP/IP).
It all started when USSR launched the Sputnik which spurred US to take action and ultimately, after a chain of events, the term “internet” came into existence. It didn’t see any significant growth till 1990s but with the advent of the World Wide Web, as invented the English scientist Tim Berners-Lee around the 1990s, it started to gain popularity in the academic and the technical field on a large scale, and by the end of 1996, it started to see phenomenal growth and pervade in every aspect of the social life. And it has become an indispensable and very important part of our daily life, whether it is business, politics, social or academic.
